Hypnosis is a normal state of awareness, a sharper state of awareness than you would necessary experience. When in a state of hypnosis the brain produces Alpha brain waves. Alpha brain waves are achieved through insight; looking into ourselves rather than outsight, focusing on events external to ourselves. When the brain is in the Alpha state, the critical cortex is bypassed and the most positive suggestions given will engage the unconscious mind.
Everyone can experience a level of hypnotic trance and with continued practice, will have the ability to enter into a deep level of awareness. The changes that can be made through the use of hypnosis are stunning. Many studies have substantiated hypnosis as a significant tool for behavioral change and healing of mind and body.
